Evelyn Hendrix grew up in West Texas, writing in the shadows of pumpjacks and mesquites. She developed an interest in nonfiction while writing for her high school newspaper. As a public information officer for the Texas Department of Transportation, she wrote articles, press releases and speeches about transportation, tornadoes and a toddler who fell down a well.
Evelyn has also written about education, travel, parenting, business and the arts. Her work can be found both online and in print. She believes the world is filled with heroes disguised as ordinary people and she enjoys introducing them to a world desperately in need of inspiration.
Evelyn is particularly passionate about writing for children. She loves historical and contemporary fiction and nonfiction. Evelyn is a high school English teacher and a mother of five. She currently lives in Arizona where she never scrapes snow from her windshield.
